Andrew Scott, CEO

Our CEO is known across the building products industry as a self-made entrepreneur. Andrew guides us with his industry expertise, helping every clients to succeed.

Purplex has seen 20 years of constant growth in revenue under Andrew’s leadership. Coming from the streets of Belfast amidst the Troubles, at age 4 he was one of the casualties in an IRA bombing.

Yet by his mid 30’s, Andrew had become an acclaimed entrepreneur, turning around a failing business – Cambrian Windows – which grew from £1M to £12M turnover in just 4 years.

In 2004, Andrew started up Purplex in Weston-super-Mare, creating nearly 100 jobs across the Ascot Group, which also includes Insight Data.

With so many types of marketing available, what is the right approach for your company?

How does your brand look?

A good brand doesn’t always mean a premium logo, font and images. Discount retailers may put off potential customers with an upmarket design. We spend time getting to know your brand, and can even help you with a new Logo, Brand Guidelines and more.

How do you make money?

Businesses which sell to other businesses (B2B) tend to focus more on PR and Social Media. They’ll get fewer leads each month, but each client will spend more.

If you sell directly to consumers, you might be B2C (business to consumer) or D2C (direct to consumer). The difference is that D2C manufacture their own products, while B2C are resellers.

D/B2C tend to focus on sales volume, rather than client relationships. This means that PPC (digital ads) and SEO (search engine optimisation) are more important. These can deliver large numbers of customers for less money.

What’s your capacity?
